Yep, just like new tack or clothing....  Always try it first at home.  ;-)
Zinc oxide (particularly in the "nicer" brands like Desitin that are sold
for diaper rash) tends to have "nice" smelling stuff in it so that mothers
think their babies' bottoms smell sweet.  Could be distracting to some
horses that aren't used to it, for sure!
