Re: [RC] The ultimate - Truman Prevatt

Would the athletes in the US wanting to go to the Olympics in 1980 in Moscow all have gotten together to decide to boycott the Moscow Olympics? Hell no, they would only consider their individual interest not the collective interest of the US or even their sports programs in the US. It took the President to announce a boycott of the Moscow Olympics by the US. The US send no team to the Moscow Olympics.

Similarly no individual is going to choose to boycott this FEI or any other FEI event because of individual interest. Clearly the AERC does not have the standing to demand a boycott of such an event, but if the membership feels strongly enough on this issue it could demand the AERC - after all the AERC does belong to the members - take a strong public stand on the direction that has led to two dead horses in Spain and now this.

It's just a darn shame we can't get an American FEI endurance representative
to speak out and say, "Look, Your Majesty, some of the changes you've made
to the sport of endurance are quite wrong. And, here's a list of things
we'd like to discuss today that fall into that category..." Yea, off with
the Infidel's head if that were to happen.
