The cartridges are about $4-8 apiece for a group of parameters. The i-Stat unit isn't cheap, but there are enough of them around these days that it's reasonable to expect to borrow one. I'd always be happy to bring mine along at any ride I was vetting. Funny how things remain forever named in one's mind what one first encountered them as.... <g> And to take your comments about the i-Stat units one more step--it doesn't take very many units to cover quite a few rides over the years' time....
