[RC] RC] Pulse-Punishing - Rides 2 Far

Angie, this is exactly why we need to have PUBLIC Vet Committee >
reports> on EVERY horse that dies at a ride.> Even a small> "memoriam"
in EN would not be inappropriate.

I wouldn't say I'm in favor of being *that* public. I think a "memoriam"
would be kinda tasteless. Can you imagine the Daily Racing Form with
obituaries? :-P Neither do I believe we need an open discussion on
Ridecamp *every* time a death occurs to attempt to figure out what
happened...but for a person who wants to know, perhaps there should be
the opportunity to e-mail AERC and ask for a copy of the official report.

I can imagine that any public document would be far less candid simply
for reasons of liability and I'd hate for the vet committee to have to
think everything they said to each other would be made public...but a
well stated conclusion...like the one about the protest in this month's
EN would be good to have on file for inquiring minds.

Angie
