[RC] GPS Recommendations for Endurance Beginners - sharon1359

Hi,

My friend and I are beginners, and are training for CTRs and LD rides this
summer as a precursor to Endurance rides next year.

I'm in the market for a GPS to use during training. I *think* I just want to
know my speed, average speed, and distance traveled. Anything beyond that is
icing on the cake, I think, but you all would know best!

What features do I want? What's the best value? Where do I want to carry it,
for the best signal?

I saw a Timex product last fall at the Equine Affaire. I think it was a watch,
and an armband transmitter/receiver. It was a couple hundred bucks, which is
more than I can afford, but I'm still curious about it. Is it a good product?
Does anyone know where I can find information about it online?

Does anyone have a used GPS that would fit the bill, that they'd like to sell?

Thanks,
-Sharon K.
