Re: [RC] trailer brakes/truck brakes - Magnumsmom

Can someone explain exactly what a 'Jake brake' is?

Uses the engine to initiate braking. Also available are
exhaust brakes. Both can be quite noisy. Think about
sitting next to a big rig when their brakes are engaged
or disengaged... or the reving of a diesel engine during
a downshift.

If I remember right, these may not be legal for private
vehicles in all states. Certainly their use is often banned
in towns and populated areas (their use is illegal in Santa
Fe proper... as well as hand-held cellphones).
