[RC] looking for riding buddies - Kathie Ford

Hello all.  I was so excited about something I just had to share it!  Finally got to ride some of the Tevis the other day (sunday) and it was a great feeling.  Only bummer was I found out my daughter was afraid of heights! It didn't look bad to me but I looked at her and she was white as a sheet.  She didn't complain till I asked her why she was so quiet for the past two hours!!  Poor thing, we rode back to the trailer and she was okay.  She said she didn't want to complain cause she knew how much I wanted to ride there.  I felt bad, but couldn't help being excited that I finally got on that trail!  Been wanted to for several years!  Thought my daughter was kind in her thinking of me  but I wish I'd have known she was bothered.  I would have taken her home right then and there.  I'll just take her on rides where she is more comfortable cause she likes to ride out.  What a surprise......

Anyway, the real reason I'm posting is because I'd like to find some riding buddies.  I'd like to ride other parts of the tevis trail and also in cool.  I don't really know my way around and would really like a riding buddie or buddies.  It is so beautiful in there especially down by the American river with the mountains rising up out of the river.  Really awesome!  I just wish my daughter had enjoyed it.  But I don't think it would be safe by myself until I knew the trails system a bit better.  I'd like to learn with some one who knows them well.

As far as riding skill I can ride decent and know how to take care of my horse.  I like to walk, trot and canter and I do like speed when my horse is capable and willing.  My horse is well behaved in company and trailers well.  I am working on her trot and helping to teach her to extend a bit.  I'm not a pokey rider and neither is my horse, but I really don't mind taking in the scenery either.   So I hope someone out there might be interested.
I live in Auburn so I'm close to many trails.  I also have trails at my home if someone would like to explore those.  I like to ride the canal by the bear river.  There are some nice views and a few good conditioning hills.  Its nice if you don't want to go far or if the weather is so so..

Well, hope I can find someone to ride with.  If interested please feel free to email me anytime.  I'm "hungry" to ride more trails and condition my horse!

Thanks and hope you and your horse buddies are well and healthy.
