Re: [RC] 2004 old dominion - Truman PrevattHint for this ride. Start out with new shoes and have your farrier make two sets. One complete set you have your crew carry with you so that all the farrier has to do is put on a shoe that is the same as the one pulled. Pulled shoes there is common. In '97 I was crewing we had a complete set of shoes with us. My rider had new fronts put on at 70 miles. The nail heads were gone and the shoes were loose. The shoes were so thin we opted for the new set. He also reset a few nails in the back. He went on the finish 4th, with best vet score and win the OD Trophy. Preperation on this ride is the key.Truman Vicki Austin wrote: If you are doing the 100 it is an incredible ride!!! The ride site is wonderful!! Run very nicely.
