RE: [RC] Wintec - David LeBlancIf you stay under the customs limit for duty-free (about $400, I think) you can avoid the duty taxes. I think one saddle may come in under that, though it is a total for all the stuff you bring in, not per item. BTW, $1 US is about $1.50 AU, give or take. I have no idea if you'd really save anything unless you visited the factory. We went down there in 2000, went on an Equitour in Queensland and had a blast. We would have liked to have brough home one of the horses, but the $10,000 transportation cost rained on that parade. -----Original Message----- From: ridecamp-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ridecamp-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of arabians@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, December 29, 2003 12:02 PM To: ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [RC] Wintec I was in Australia two years ago.. I brought back 3 saddles in an empty suitcase. They were the same price as here.. only our money was worth double what theirs is.... I had to pay 10% tax on it... then 10% duty tax at the airport... So not sure how much I really saved??? with all the taxes involved... It was one of the best trips I have ever been on. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
