Re: [RC] [RC] AERC ride insurance - Truman Prevatt

It also seems - at least from what I hear - that there was no competitive bid issued for this insurance coverage. Therefore, you can be certain the AERC did not get the best rate from the start. There are plenty of organizations that have group policies with different agents. Why didn't the AERC contact those organizations, get the name of the agents and ask them to bid? This whole thing is beginning to sound like someone trying to throw a bone - a very nice bone - to one of their "buddies" at our expense. This was done too fast and without proper regard to getting the best value for the ride managers. It is the ride managers that will pay for this and hence it is the riders that will pay for this.

Reagrds,
Truman

Once the company has EVERY Endurance ride in the country wrapped up, what's their incentive to keep rates competitive.....Oops, there will BE no competition. It is my understanding the policy offered to AERC is they must insure ALL THE RIDES, OR NO RIDES will be covered. And, they have been given a very short time frame to decide. (I think the conference call is/was today?)
