Re: [RC] CA Earthquake ?? - Bette Lamore

I was working on my computer when our mobile home started shaking-- fortunately it was a mobile and it rolled with the punches. I yelled out to Mark (who was right next to me on his computer) "Oh my computers!!!" and then shouted to my friend who was on the phone with me at the time that we were having an earthquake, hung up on her and grabbed on to both my video editing computers so they wouldn't get thrown anywhere without me attached to lessen their fall. I figured the worse that could happen is that the roof could cave in which, on a mobile home, would probably just give me a head-ache-- and I had SLAVED to earn enough money for my high tech computers-- I was not about to let them go down. We looked out the window and saw the herd racing around-- but no big deal. My cats disappeared for an hour-- hiding in the house somewhere and Bunny just stood there looking at the house as if to say "I've been to hell and back-- this is small potatoes!"
Other than some broken wine glasses and glass bowls, we emerged unscathed and I had Mark hook up the generator to the computer within a few hours-- except by then our power was just being restored. Other than the one brick building which had postponed retrofitting two separate times collapsing and the bricks killing 2 passers-by, the rest of the town had minor damage. IT was hyped in the national TV but then hardly anything ever happens here so it was big-time for us.
All is well except it put me behind on my Bunny video--- almost done editing. Had hoped to get to the PO but the whole town was closed down.
Hope the rest of the holiday season is a little calmer.
Merry Christmas and PEACE to ALL on earth! (and with the earth :-) )
