[RC] Same Common Goal - Teri

I started thinking this morning about the new riders I have met this past
year at rides. Since I am a people person and horse lover I like to meet
the new people and horses coming into the sport. Of all the new riders I
have talked to they have been conditioning with a mentor. I have ridden
with some usually towards the back of the pack. During these rides you
learn that their concerns are the same as riders that have ridden many
endurance miles. They are eager to learn more and their concerns are always
with the horse, never with themselves.

I also have seen riders with years of endurance miles on them and they
sometimes get caught up in the moment. I feel the majority of riders are
responsible of their mounts but in the heat of competition sometime we loose
our head. I think the real answer to the problem is HOW DO WE PREVENT
GETTING CAUGHT UP IN THE MOMENT. This can happen to anyone. New and old
alike.

So lets discuss getting caught up in the moment and try and find a way to
prevent that if it is at all possible.
