[RC] [Guest] advice needed on choked horse - Ridecamp Moderator

Jessica Spoone jspoone@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
My 2yo choked tonight on some grain. From what the vet has said he is basically going to have to have extremely special care for the rest of his life now. Things such as he can only have chopped and wet hay, his grain has to be wet, all food and water must be at chest height from now on. I'm hoping somebody that has dealt with this before can give me some tips on how best to deal with this. I have 6 other horses that he is currently pastured with and with this special care I am going to have to isolate him which to me doesn't seem very healthy. He's never done this before and I've never had any horse do this before. Thanks.
