The first thing I think of was how Federal Express motivated their drivers 
with safe driving awards.  This has been a few years, not sure what they do 
now, but FEDEX used to give out Safe Driver pins.  To reward drivers with 
no accidents.  Used a 12 month time frame for each pin. I prized 
them.  Wore them on my collar like general's stars.  If you were involved 
in an accident, there was a review procedure that allowed you to submit 
reports and information in order to prove that that you (the driver) were 
not at fault and that it was indeed an accident.  If you proved your case, 
those incidences were not counted against your record.

FEDEX knew how much those accidents caused them, not just in dollars, but 
image also.  Not too dissimilar, is it?
