The best way to do this exercise is volunteer to mark a trail, take down
markers or trim trail. You spend a day of stopping and starting with
another horse along. It's good for their head.  My first horse marked and
unmarked so many trails his first year that he literally started stopping
when there was a good overhanging limb. >g<
