Re: [RC] [RC] education-what to do? - Devereux Corlett

I'm a newbie, and have finished a 25. I'm in total agreement with Truman, there are some riders who only want to win, no matter what the cost.  There was one of "these" at my stable and his horse died several years ago.

The reason I'm writining is I know I don't have enough knowledge.   I did extensive conditioning before I entered the 25, but realize by reading your messages that there is alot I don't know when it comes to equestrian medical.  Are there RC meetings in Northern California.  Don't worry, I have others in my barn that compete, but I'd like to learn more from the experts.

I loved the ride, the people were great.  But I know my 15 year old mare will not be able to compete on longer rides.  She has the heart, but her confirmation just not support a longer ride.

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.
