RE: [RC] WIDE torsion saddle - Brittany Davis

Hi all,
I was able to follow some of the recommendations given
to me about the wide seat/feel of the torsion saddles
this weekend. Here's my results:

*Replaced the western fenders with my english
leathers. Did help some, felt better and less bulk
under my leg.

*Took off the seat cover. felt much more secure and a
deeper seat. Suprisingly the velcro and exposed
stirrup bars didn't seem to bother me on the short
1-hour ride. Can't say what they'd do after many
hours.

*I did not take out the saddle inserts because I felt
these did not effect the width that I was
uncomfortable with. Besides, that would defeat the
purpose of having the endurance model.

My final thoughts are that the width mostly comes from
cushioning that is placed in the saddle flap. makes
the saddle about 2 inches wider on either side of the
horse. that's 4 inches of extra width and not a very
close-contact feel. I also felt a lot of side-to-side
movement with this saddle. This is just my personal
review. The saddle has it's ups and downs, but it is
not the saddle for me. Hope this helps anyone looking
at them. try it out first!

Brittany
