Hey Rene,  It was 20 below in South Woodstock Saturday morning, yikes.  Lory and I were ready to ride and so were our boys (more than ready after a long trailer ride and being couped up inside overnight).  WE all waited for the sun to come and warm the air, but it was not enough, got to about 8 degrees by noon.  The ride was called.

In  retrospect it was a good call.  We did go out for a short training ride, about 10-12 miles.  We went slow, but with the hills our horses were soon sweaty and their hair simply froze where it was damp.  Double yikes!  We got back in plenty of time to get them warm and dry, but imagine being out till 3pm after a 41/2 hour ride, with the temps plummeting.  It would have been extremely risky.  Besides, Manny kicked off both easy boots (never to be found), we would have had to pull.  If only my beloved Old Macs were legal;-)

It was a fun experience, nice people. Beautiful full moon.  I'll try again next year for sure.  You coming?
