Re: [RC] Question for men - Howard Bramhall

Well, Jon might be joking, but, for me, I feel the same way. It's not that
men care how they look, I disagree with that, but, they don't like getting
laughed at by other men. And, to avoid such a thing, I won't wear my tights
anywhere but at an endurance ride. There, I'm used to getting laughed at
anyway, so, it's not a problem. And, when it's mostly wimmen who laugh at
you, for some strange reason, I kind of enjoy it. Plus, I will respond back
at ya. ("I don't know what Julie was saying there Doris, your tights don't
make your ass look that big.")

The reason men don't like getting laughed at is they're more than likely
going to respond to the laughter. Comments like, "What you laughing at you
fat, bald, tootlhess, dog-face redneck?" are going to get one into trouble,
especially if you're alone and there's a group of them hackling at you. So,
to avoid such painful experiences, I'm with Jon and will put the jeans on
over my tights. It's kept me alive this long and with my big mouth, that's
saying something.

cya,
Howard (Gators will romp over Tennessee today, wait and see)

Knowing Jon, I'd be willing to bet his was a humerous reply; he's never
seemed to be one to worry about that. (He started his career 2 years
ago at a CTR I manage, and I've been in touch with him since before that.)

Okay, I have a different question for men:

Does it really matter that much to you what total strangers
in a gas station think?

And if so, why??????

This question, while it may have nothing to do with
endurance riding, is not meant as a joke.

I really am curious to know how many men give a shit what
somebody at a gas station might think (to the extent that
they will bring along a pair of jeans to hide their riding
tights).

And of you men (if there really are any) who care about what
these total strangers who you are probably never going to
see again in your entire life think, what IS it that you are
worried about them thinking?

Because I gotta confess, it is totally beyond me.

Or are y'all just joking?
