[RC] [Guest] Horse + Human Endurance Problems - Ridecamp Moderator

Val Nicoson SweetMare55@xxxxxxxxx
Lots of information has been discussed regarding our horses regarding fluid overloads and GI dysfunctions and such. Thank you so much Darolyn for sharing your experiences! My condolences go out to you! Also some posts have briefly stated that such occurances also occur in humans as well.

Is there a good website to go to to search on human conditions regarding similar circumstances and/or dysfunctions?

Reason why I'm asking is...I have personally experienced some dysfunctions and want to research more into it. Not sure if it was a fluid overload in my case (I'm lucky to drink enough normally anyway) but the doctor said it was an Ileus...which was mentioned in a prior post (for horses) of gut shutdown. It was painful enough that I went to the emergency room. I only rode less than 20 miles that day before pulling as my horse was fairly sluggish at the VC trotout due to sore muscles in his rear legs.
Additionally two rides prior I had what is termed runner's or rider's diarrhea. So something is going on and needs to be looked into as to what I'm doing/not doing...doesn't help I'm an older and newbie distance rider combined. Could it be I'm riding too hard and thus my gut is shutting down?
OK...how many others of us are having problems as riders? Thanks for sharing....Val
