Re: [RC] Just use oil - C. EylerMy gelding got too thin late last fall, and I tried everything during the following eight months to get more weight back on him. Two cups of corn oil daily, 100% vegetable fat prills, Ultimate Finish, lots of high-fat grain and beetpulp. Pretty much tried it all, and nothing helped much. Then, about six weeks ago, two things changed: #1 He got his teeth floated by the vet, using sedation and a full-mouth speculum. Vet said he had the beginning of a wave mouth and would need more work in another six months. (An equine dentist had worked on his teeth last summer, and told me it would not need to be done again for a year.) #2 Started adding Fastrack to his twice-daily feed. I don't know which of the two (or maybe both) is responsible, but he's now putting on weight nicely.
