[RC] sewing your own tights - Karen Bratcher

I've posted this before, but for anyone new who sews... and please feel free to give ME any good mailorder leads for fabric too!

www.seattlefabrics.com  has shiny nylon lycra in LOTS of colors, and a few colors in supplex lycra (looks/feels like cotton-lycra but tougher, and wicking), stretch Polartec, and Spandura (Cordura-spandex if you really need TOUGH tights).  Solid colors only, no prints.  Also cotton lycra but who wants to wear that soggy stuff anymore.  They also carry Suitability patterns (riding tights, among other riding wear) and Green Pepper patterns (neato diagonally striped tights pattern).

www.justmakeit.com  has all of the above patterns and fabrics as well, plus a few prints.

Karen Bratcher in Athol, ID, who just got a couple yards of eye-searing hot pink snakeskin print lycra on sale locally for $3 a yard and is wondering what to do with it :-D  It'll make some wicked side stripes!
