Re: [RC] [RC] Mountain bikes and horse don't mix - Laurie Durgin

I have 2 sons, I had them ride in the next pasture by my horses or the road next to the arena. Then one day my older son went 'trail riding with us' ahead most of the time. Then I had him stop and he got behind, Rascal thinks them no big deal.(Now Honey in arena with me spooked a bit when My younger son whizzed by from a hill she couldn't see behind, have to get her used to trail riding with them when she gets out. I have not been trail riding a lot in the last 10 years and have two rather
inexperienced trail horses. We live in the "Mountain Bike Capital of the World"
and I'm really concerned about meeting them. My old mare was used to a lot
but would freak if she saw a bicycle on the trail, and they weren't nearly so
many then. What techniques has anyone used to get them used to bikes, especially
on narrow stretches?
