So, how do you folks in the Carolinas, GA, TX, and other hot and humid
states condition during the summer?

Slowly, morning & evening (I know the humidity is up in the morning but
there ought to be a "direct sunlight
index". Sponge, give electrolytes or let them eat some. Avoid letting
the core heat build up.

Well, I guess I'm the "oddball" in this too. When I lived in the SE I
always did some of my conditioning in the afternoons in the hottest
part of the day. My reason being, I never want to ask my horse to do
anything in competition that he hasn't done in training -- if he's
going to compete in the heat of the day, he needs conditioning in the
heat of the day, to build up the ability to handle it.
