RE: [RC] [Guest] Martingale and Kimberwicke - Ridecamp Moderator

On Behalf Of Susan Milam

Anne,

I have a very hot horse when it comes to a competition. I always use a loose
martingale and a "solid mouth" Kimberwick on him for the first loops at
races. Then I can go to a noseband after that and take the bit away.

I bought a jointed mouth K and we used it once and after that he refused to
be bitted with it. I believe it to be way too severe for my hot arab. I
would recommend a less severe bit or lots more training.
