[RC] Micro chipping horses: - Douglas M Gifford

With the hot weekend weather I chose to stay inside and catch up on
reading my
EN. Read the board meeting minutes from the convention completely.
I noticed that it was recommended at the very end that all horses that
would be
eligible for mileage would need to be micro chipped by 2005. This was not
voted on
by the board but tabled to the midyear meeting coming up in Sept.
I have some thoughts on this. How many of you have registered horses. Do
you already have
a freeze brand or microchip already in place for these horses you
compete.
How many of you have grade horses? Have you already micro chipped or
ranch branded
these horses?
Is AERC going to require horses that already have a brand or microchip to
be done
with their microchip system?
It seems to me that a horse passport would be a better way to go.
