L- If there are NO zoning rules in your county, the housing and keeping of large animals would probably prevail. See previous post. I am zoned RA, which is called Residential Agricultural here in Nevada County. We fought for a number of months a few years ago to keep and enhance the large animal rules on the books, and by staying vigilant, we ended up with better rules than we had before. It is only a matter of time, tho, before the latest arrivals from the cities try to carve against us again. Being vigilant, staying in touch with the County Ag Agent meant everything, as he gave us constant heads ups on things.
As for the standard of "Sanitary", most people who know me know that Martha Stewart doesn't live here!!! I take better care of my horses than I do of my kitchen-. No one will get poisoned from the cooking that goes on there, but nothing sparkles like Mr Clean has been helping me. Everything has to have a priority.
