Re: [RC] Feeding Beet Pulp to Weanlings - Heidi Smith

>Seems to me I read on one of the beet pulp threads that feeding beet pulp to young horses was not a good thing.  I can not find the thread.  Does anyone remember reading that thread? If so could you please email the information to me.  I have a friend that has begun feeding beet pulp to her weanling. If it isn't a good idea I would like to give her the information.  Thanks

It is too low in calcium and phosphorus (and other minerals)--ratio is acceptable, but overall amounts are insufficient for youngsters.  So no, not a good feed for younguns, wonderful as it may be for the mature guys.
