[RC] Aussie saddle update - Sundaez

Hi all....

You guys really have given me a great education about Aussie saddles. I have
recieved LOTS of posts so if I haven't responded I'm trying to catch up!

I talked to Collin at Austrailian Stock Saddle Co. yesterday. The saddle I am
trying was made there and is about 7 years old. Collin gave me quite a
dramatic account of how they ride over there... he said not much trot but lots
of
walking or galloping to gather the cattle. The Austrailian saddle is built to
keep you in even if the horse goes down. The breed there is more of a TB type
so
that's why the saddles are built more narrow. He is in the planning stage for
making a prototype endurance saddle.

Anyway...those of you with Aussie saddles...do you ride with long stirrups? I
felt they were too long but shortened them...then I felt out of blalnce!

Mel
