Re: [RC] changing membership - shifting attitudes? - paul

While I'm admittedly new at this, and haven't even done an LD yet (waiting for some rides closer to home), I plan to use the LD as training to move on to 50's and maybe even ........ Many of you will say I have no business even throwing my 2 cents in, but I have to wonder why some folks seemed threatened by the LD riders. Ride for ride, I can't see LD riders as competition to you "real" endurance riders. Saying we've always done it this way and we're always going to do it this way reminds me of the "my country, right or wrong " attitude. By-laws can be changed by a simple vote...

"If they can't or don't want to ride 50 miles or greater, let them
be happy that there is an option to ride at all..... Leave it alone and be content
with what you have....."

Be content with what you have... hmmm... where have I heard that before....
Sure hope Mighty Mika and I continue to take a more tolerant view of riding
when we ride 50's... and remember, we vote too...
