My opinion of a 25-miler is that its a long trail ride. I would not consider it endurance. To me its more like a sample of what an endurance ride might be like. You get the experience of ride camp, the vet checks, etc. Why not take the "race" out of LD and offer it as a timed trail ride. Give everyone a completion prize and maybe have placements for the horses with the highest vet scores -- and yes that could be the horse that comes in last. Back to lurking......... You have not ridden endurance and I have 8,000 miles and you said it better than I could....mb
