Roger you are right on the money. There are jerks in every distance. One of the last horses that died in the SE I saw back in '94. It was in a 50 and it died because the rider had to win and chased a very good horse and rider ( who actually slowed up for her because he was worried about her horse ) with a horse without the ability to keep up. It made it three loops and then went to a big hole in the ground. That kind of crap is what we should be worried about. It doesn't really hit you until you see someone kill a horse for the glory of winning a 50.

That was a 50 folks not an LD. Like Roger I've only seen two horses on IV's in LD's in my 13 years of riding in the SE. One was most likely the one Roger saw. The other had metabolic problems before she entered the ride she didn't bother to tell the vets about it until the horse tied up.

Folks it ain't broke. What is broke is dead horses.
