[RC] [Guest] New Purchase-Thin pregnant mare - Ridecamp Guest

Annette 1wildpony@xxxxxxx

Thank you everyone that sent me advice on my thin new mare that is
(surprise) 10+ months pregnant. Please rest assured that everything is
being done to help this mare & baby. She is essentially being free fed
grass hay & a flake of alfalfa per day. She also gets the supplements & a
bit of grain as recommended by my vet. It does look like she is going to
foal in the next week to ten days. She is bagging up, her tail head is
getting more exposed & her butt muscles are beginning to relax. I just hope
the nutrition did not come too late.
The seller/stallion owner refuses to give me the foal certificate unless I
pay her $750. for the stud fee. Her defense is that even though she had the
stallion & mare together for 2+ months she never saw them actually breed so
she had no way to know the mare might be pregnant *sigh*
I will post again when she has foaled & let you know the status on the foals
health. Thanks again for all your well wishes.
Annette
