RE: [RC] [RC-Digest] Borium on Shoes - Stewart, CarrieI decided to put German borium calks on my geldings shoes when we were first 'shoed' 2 weeks ago. My farrier doesn't use the weld on kind as he said he doesn't like the unbalanced way the borium goes on. We regularly ride across roads, like every training ride we do. I try and keep off the road and usually ride in the large ROW. I am not sure if I like the way he moves with the calks on. He doesn't have any interfering problems just that when he lands now, that is where the foot 'sticks'. A whole different feeling then riding barefoot. I may have them taken off next shoeing to see how he will do but I hesitate as one of the roads we cross is a 4 lane Hwy and I would hate for him to loose it somewhere in the crossing.
