[RC] Horse sleeping too much - Cowgirgoof

Does anyone have "lazy" horses that tend to lay down alot? My two horse live
outside with access to their barn 24 hrs. To me it seems they lay down
excessively (especially in summer). On my days off, I usually feed about 7am
and they will be laying down when I get out to the barn, then maybe only 45
minutes later I notice them down again. If I just observe them from my kitchen
window during the day, they will be down in the pasture again around 9:30-10am,
1-2pm, 4 or 5 pm and so on. They are always up on their brisket (rarely ever
lay flat out), they don't seem uncomfortable, not running a temp. Just seems
like laziness. They tend to stay down about 40 minutes, which I always thought
was an excessive amount of time. I am in Florida where it is very hot and muggy
and we are having excessive daily rain(although they do not lay down during the
rain storms...)

Do any of the vets on this forum have comments on this?
Thanks, Becky
