[RC] Splash II - MateefI wrote a week ago (or there abouts) about my gelding Kirby who liked to cool himself off in the creeks. Well, tonight when I got home from work at the tale end of torrential storm that dumped over an 1" in less than an hour, I found Kirby happily playing in the "pond" in his pasture. My mare Sara was watching him and occasionally would paw once or twice. After all, it seemed like it must be fun, but she doesn't like getting her face wet. He even lay down and rolled and rolled, then would get up and paw and churn the water. Then he would find another place to lay down and roll. I've never seen anything like it. I took the camera out and took some pictures and watched the lunacy. After many minutes of this, I began to think maybe he was colicking with all this pawing. I started walking toward him and when he looked up towards me, I asked him what he thought he was doing. When he realized he was "caught in the act" he sauntered away and went back to grazing like it never happened.
