Re: [RC] Horse Age Poll - Joan Ruprecht

If you are interested only in young horses, the survey is O.K.

If you are really interested in what age horses people are riding you should give equal place for all ages.

Just ask what are the ages of the horses you are competing with.

I feel the survey gave us some very good information.  If you present the question at each endurance ride where there are anywhere from 50 to 100 riders , the results will be very similar.

The questions are simple and each question will have it's importance in the archive area.  After obtaining results from about 10 surveys and are able to view all of them I feel the info will tell us more about the sport.

It seems that the main problem you have is the poll stopped at 11+.  So if we gave 11-15 and then 16+ you would be happier with that.

This is just my opinion.

>There were a lot of 20 and older horses doing the Cooly Ranch Ride, lots of 15 to 20 year olds also.  Your survey did not give us a chance to show this nor did it give us a chance to show that we are riding a number of horses, of varying ages.  Endurance is good for a horse, keeps it young.

Likewise, the two horses we added to the poll are 16 and 21....
