[RC] Daily wormer issues - C. Eyler

My gelding is boarded on a small private farm.  Four horses and one small pony on six acres.  They are usually on pasture about 8-10 hours daily and otherwise in a dirt/mud paddock.  Because of such small acreage, the new vet has recommended that all the horses be on a daily wormer, with twice-yearly ivermectin and a once-yearly double dose of Strongid paste for tapes.

I know that a while back there was some discussion on Ridecamp that daily wormers were not a good idea for distance horses.  What's the current poop (pun intended) on this issue?  Any hard data available regarding daily wormer and hard-working horses?
