I have only recently gotten involved in endurance riding. Had the interest just not many in my area. One of the things I do appreciate is the completion prizes. They do give a sense of accomplishment.  I guess I have been lucky because I have not had any problems with people trying to run me down. Some faster riders have overtaken us but, you can hear them coming and they always call out that they are passing etc and we just stay out of the way. We have to do this with ATV's also, similar situation.
