Re: [RC] [AERC_CT_Region] Equine ulcers - gastrogard vs generic tagamet - LStewart/KWeickhardt

Hi Mike-
Way-back-when, we had a foal that had a couple of behaviors indicative of an
ulcer. Although it was an unconfirmed diagnosis, our vet rec. cimetidine
and karafate (human prescription) for a few weeks. The teeth-grinding and
dirt-munching disappeared during treatment and did not return.

Has anyone on the list used the generic Tagamet successfully
for the treatment of ulcers in an equine?

Mike
