[RC] Cleaning Aluminum Horse Trailer - Snodgrass, Bonnie

I've procrastinated badly about cleaning the exterior of my trailer. I've
had it a year now and it looks bad. The roof is aluminum and the sides are
painted white aluminum. Of course there are horrible black streaks running
down the white paint from the aluminum roof and window frames. These streaks
won't just wash off.

How do I remove the oxidation from the aluminum and the black streaks from
the painted sides and prevent this from happening again? Is there something
that I can coat the aluminum with that will help prevent the streaking? What
about coating the painted areas? I read about acid washing aluminum trailers
but this is a largely painted trailer and I guess I will have to use rubbing
compund to remove those black streaks. Any constructive recommendations?
