Re: [RC] [RC] Seabiscuit - Deanna German

So glad you bring this up, Heidi. So much was made about Seabiscuit being
homely and small, but when I saw photos of him, other than the front legs, I
thought he looked built like a brick sh**house, to borrow a phrase from my
rural upbringing. I can't help but believe that his overall build was why he
was so athletic and why he was able to run 80+ races.

Deanna

----------------------------------------------

Which once again demonstrates the concept that too often conformation is
thought?to mean "legs" when it is really the balanced body that is
responsible for the athleticism.? From what I've seen of pictures of this
horse, he had a great body but?less-than-perfect legs.? Just one more
example among many of horses that might have been rejected by folks who
didn't?consider the whole package!? :-)
?
Heidi
