I have felt Breakfast - coffee or tea - must have some caffiene :). Cheese, advocado if I can get it, hardboiled eggs, whatever I can get down lunch - fig newtons, canned fruit, nuts/raisins, chocolate pudding later checks/after the ride - everything in site :) Water, water, water. Last year my crew made me take electrolyte tablets from Hammernutrion.com (http://www.e-caps.com/products/product_detail.cfm?sku=EL) - I took them every hour or two along with plenty of water. That made a *huge* difference in how I felt - I always believed in and used elec for horses before but now I really understand how important they are. weekend after finishing my first 50 ....God, it hurts... I drank tons of water while riding but hear that is not enough. Just wanted to know what people use that really help. If it's hot you should be coming in off a loop crossing your legs like school kid needing to potty :) or having to go before the loop is done if it's a long loop In addition to plenty of water, Ibuprofin works wonders :) 2) Also what kind of cross-training do people do to help those muscles get stronger so we are not so bloody sore for 2 days. I hear bike riding helps get those muscles stronger for riding longer. Riding alot just does not seem to be enough. biking riding, hiking hills, anything that works the quads - they take a beating during a ride Tina =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
