I'll note that Virginia was originally in the Southeast Region of the
AERC, but most of their members and all of their rides were in the
northern part of the State.  So the members requested that Virginia be
moved into the Northeast Region, as that's where they do most of their
rides (and most of the riders attending Virginia rides are NE
members).

Similar adjustments have been made to other AERC Regions over the
years.
