[RC] daily wormer and the "purge" - sharp penny

 I had always heard that you should do the double dose of
paste pyrantel before putting them on the daily as the
daily won't kill the tapes already present. Then once they
are purged the daily will keep them tape free. Is this true
or an "old wives tale"?
Once they are on the daily should you ever do the "purge"
again?  I know you have to give them ivermectrin once in
the spring and once in the fall.
