[RC] re: shot locations - Teresa Van Hove

Hmmm,  My vet discouraged me from using the pecs/chest when I said
that I'd had to give Grey (horse of many nerve endings) vaccine 
there (after he'd bent a needle with a neck attempt). 

Susan G is CSU  discouraging this?  Did they give
the rationale if so?  Any other vets - did your vet school
discourage this and give a reason or is this just my vet?

My vet likes the butt for shots (in what he called the 'hams')
which works for some of our horses but I dont even bother
trying this on the ones that react to the little 20 gauge vaccine
needles as though I'm using a dull 16 gauge.
