It certainly requires different strategy to race in the desert than in the
mountains.     I hope one day there will be a world event somewhere like Big
Horn, Tevis, Old Dominion etc.  Probably not likely.

There was a World Championship held at the Old Dominion trail, in 1988
I believe.  Although they changed the trail to make it less difficult.
