Endurance.Net Ridecamp Archives

My question would be how do we know if any horses have been
exposed to WNV and may still have antibodies/or ???? that
would make them susceptable to having a vaccine reaction? I
used to be a Vet. Tech. and the Feline Leukemia vaccine was
similar in that if your cat had the antibodies and tested
positive you didn't bother giving the vaccine. All cats
were tested prior to the vaccine because of this. I've been
reading about horses that are in barns with infected
horses, have no symptoms, are tested and come up positive.
Seems like it would be pretty easy to be vaccinating these
horses by mistake. Should we all be having the test done
first?
