[RC] SE region rides - Ed Kilpatrick

another good ride in the southeast region is the ponce de leon pirate run, april 19, near ponce de leon, florida.  it is deceptively difficult with some steep hills(about as close as you will come to "mountains" in florida)  deep sand, gullies and water crossings.  the ride manager/hostess makes it a worth while trip with very nice awards and venison stickers, oysters and a great meal on saturday night.   i live in florida, so i like all of the florida rides.  flat, sandy, or swampy can be challenging, and you never know what the weather will be like in winter and early spring.

the hungry buzzard ride at talladega national forest in alabama was a very challenging ride as well.   steep, rocky and tough.          ed
