[RC] Caspers night ride: - Douglas M Gifford

For those of you that did not get to go to convention:
I have a couple of horse buddys that I really like. They share trails
with me
but do not live very far a way. My mom invites them to come over and play
as we have about 8 miles of hilly country roads. Last night my mom
invited them
to come play. One is a bay Paso cross "pony" and the other is an
unregistered Arab
"gal". When we started out the gals mom knew we would be riding in the
dark so she
put on a little blinking red light on the back of Gals saddle. I freaked
out! I had to check
her over really close after shying. After that we went on down the road.
Not to far from
my home we found some dead coyotes and foxes that someone had dumped. I
was not happy. 
We continued on for about 3 miles at a fairly good trot(walking down the
hills).Thats when I started 
looking for "the light". I was behind Pony and Gal going up a good hill
and I decided that my mom should turn on "the light". Mom obliged and off
we went to catch those ponies. We went for another 3 miles  when my mom
decided that I needed to start listening to her aids more. She worked on
keeping me in a flat foot
walk. We also played a game of cat and mouse. I was still feeling pretty
onry when we got back to 
the barn.
